Hi guys,

3 days ago i bought these:

Motherboard ASUS X99-A 2 (LGA 2011-v3, Intel X99, ATX)
CPU Intel Cadre i7 6800K (LGA 2011-v3, 3.40GHz, Unlocked)
GPU Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB, High Stop)
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V (2x, 16GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288)
SSD m.2 Samsung 960 EVO (500GB, One thousand.ii 2280)
psu Corsair RM750i (750W)
CPU Cooler Corsair Hydro Serial H110i
WiFi adapter ASUS PCE-AC56 (PCI-Due east x1, 866Mbit/s, 450Mbit/s)
Chassis Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition (Full tower)

I put information technology all together and it seems to exist working fine, but when I endeavour to install Win10 on the m.2 deejay I take some bug. BIOS doesn't detect the m.2 disk at all, i tried many settings. I created Win10 uefi bootable USB stick and install it from it. Windows sometimes sees the thousand.2 disk and copies files on it, simply every bit the BIOS doesn't see the m.2 deejay the installation never continues, simply brings me back to the beginning. Could anybody help delight? I am really frustrated with all this.

Thanks,

I had the same problem merely sorted it as follows, make certain you lot have the latest BIOS installed - mine is now on 2003 link here http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/Z170-PRO-GA...

one - Make sure you unplug all SATA and USB drives, the 1000.2 drive has to be the only drive installed.

two - Become into the bios, nether the kick tab there is an option for CSM, brand certain information technology is disabled.

3 - Click on secure kick option below and make sure it is gear up to other Os, Not windows UEFI.

four - Click on key direction and clear secure boot keys.

v - Insert a USB memory stick with a UEFI bootable iso of Windows 10 on it, USB3 is quicker but USB2 works also. A Windows DVD won't work unless you've created your own UEFI Bootable DVD.

6 - Press F10 to save, exit and reboot.

seven - Windows will now first installing to your NVME drive as it has its own NVME driver built in, I don't think this would work with previous versions.

8 - When the PC reboots striking F2 to become back into the BIOS, you volition see under boot priority that windows boot manager now lists your NVME drive.

9 - Click on secure boot once more but now set it to WIndows UEFI mode.

ten - Click on key direction and install default secure boot keys

11 - Printing F10 to save and leave and windows will finish the install.

Once you accept Windows up and running, shutdown the PC and reconnect your other SATA drives. Practise not put anything on SATA port 1 as this is now reserved for the NVME drive.

I would also recommend installing the Samsung NVME commuter at this point to supercede the Windows one.

The background hither is NVME SSDs do not appear within the BIOS until Windows creates the organization partition with the EFI Kick Sector.

Your M.2 SSD contains UEFI commuter information within the firmware. By disabling the CSM module Windows will read and utilize the 1000.2-specific UEFI commuter.

Hope this works for you lot.

Ivan "

so thank yous "ivanmalley", you lot saved my fretfulness ;)

Guess I accept the correct combo. X99-A 2 and Samsung SSD 960 EVO 250GB and accept had no bug. I updated bios to 1504 before installing ssd. Disconnected all other drives and usb junk. So installed OS from USB without a hitch. Removed USB and set ssd equally priority ane. Then Asus updated drivers. And then Windows updates. Guess I am charmed.

I feel the hurting. Read about many unhappy users. You accept been to the Asus Forums?

UPDATE YOUR BIOS!!!

I had the aforementioned event. I was spinning my wheels for days then I randomly decided to flash my organization. it worked i saw information technology on my drives list correct away.

It was nevertheless a fiddling awkward... Don't get me wrong.

I had the drive configured and formatted only it wouldn't show upward in my boot options.. Until i went into the advanced boot options and set it to be #one priority. Afterward all that it was all golden, it booted up correct abroad.

took me two days and a bunch of formatting and installing but i got it to piece of work it too didn't help that i kept writing to my Samsung Evo850(SSD) instead of my Samsung evo950(m.2) or my Samsung hard disk drive, or in one case my Samsung pollex drive.. Also much Samsung equipment through me even further for a loop.

hope it helps!
